Adam & Eve Vs Adam & Steve

President Barack Obama has taken his position on the gay community to be able to legally marry in the United States. In a election year that is sure to be a fall classic, the President is assuring that he sets himself up to have a much support in his re-election campaign.

"I want everyone treated fairly in this country" Obama said. "We have never gone wrong when we’ve extended rights and responsibilities to everybody. That doesn’t weaken families; it strengthens them." According to the Los Angeles Times.

His stance has caused an uproar between those that are in accord with him and those that beg to differ. Among those that are in disagreement with him are his opponent Mitt Romney  who has been adamant that he believes in a traditional form of marriage between a male and female.

"I believe that marriage consist of a male and female" Romney said.

I personally do not agree with the president nor do I have any compassion for advocating any issues within the gay community. I feel that other issues are not being brought to light in efforts to bring about further progression that this country truly needs. I’m aware that the President has to protect the interest of those that have power within our government. He is also looking to assure that he will have as much support from those that have an influence in Washington.

I would not go as far as to be a subjective individual and not believe that they should not have rights as human beings. I just adamantly feel that there are issues such as police racial profiling, dilapidated public education system and college student loan debts that are continuing to be ignored at majestic heights. I guess politics is a business not a mission.

Universal Health Scare

The Supreme Court Justice has to make a ruling on whether they want to pass the universal health care legislation that has been approved by Obama Administration. It is scheduled to go into effect in 2014 if the Supreme Courts reach an accord on the legislation. Many people have been at odds over the bill; while a plethora of individuals have gone to the extent of calling Obama a socialist and also calling it unconstitutional. Under the law insurers would be required to offer medical services even if they have pre-existing medical conditions.

Coming from a low income environment I feel that this legislation is very instrumental to those who need necessary medical attention. It allows people that are unfortunate to have the necessary medical resources which should be mandatory. People always criticize countries like Cuba on their policies, but when it comes to their health care system it’s been documented that they rank at the top. I find it very appalling and absurd that politicians in Congress are so cynical on this issue, at the expense of those in American society.

The clearly exemplifies how politics is a business not a mission. Corporate America runs the show, making the government and the people their puppets. These are the obstacles that we face when capitalism has a major influence in politics. Wall Street bigwigs, along with their capos in politics continue to play the starting roles. Let’s just hope that we can put an end to this sitcom and reach for the people that need to be reached for.

Taxing The Rich in California

The rich in the state of California should definitely be taxed at a higher rate by the federal government. Since the economic meltdown of 2008, everyone has felt the the detriments that revolve around capitalism. Many people have lost their homes, jobs, life savings, and more importantly their livelihoods. The people that make up the one percent in corporate America, do not even know what it is like to be a ordinary joe. While many people continue to feel that wrath of the financial meltdown; the elite has been given a handout by the government with resources such as bailouts.

It is time that they pay their fair share and bring something to the table. Many hard working individuals in America do not have the flexibility of having lobbyist or interest groups that can help them like the elite do. It is very important that the government holds the rich accountable just like other individuals that help make the United States the country that it is. So it if means having to put loads of cash in Uncle Sam’s account then so be it.

The surplus of revenue that would tax the rich can be used towards public education, which is a broken system. It can also provide more financial resources for higher education level institutions as well. For the rich in America, this would seem unfair because they have been accustomed to the way things have been for such a long time. Capitalism at the expense to those that really do the dirty work. Since the economic crisis, things have not really changed for those who have been lining their pockets. The lavish lifestyles are still intact, but I probably could not say the same  thing for those at the bottom of the totem pole at the company.

Taxing the rich in the state of California would be great because it would assist in building the infrastructure and would also help to fund more social service programs. These outlets play an instrumental role for the California of tomorrow. It also helps to bring more transparency in politics, which is direly needed; when it comes to many government resources favoring those with the most revenue.
